Families And Friends Speaking on Behalf of Children with Special Health Care Needs
All families need access to resources, information, and support in their efforts to raise healthy and productive children. Challenges abound if your child has a special health care, developmental or mental health need. Siblings, family members, and school friends often need additional resources while they learn about a particular condition, or disability. New Hampshire Family Voices has developed a lending library of books, video's, and articles to support families, professionals and friends. As we began building our library we found that access to children's books about special needs were sometimes difficult to find, so we made these a priority. Consequently we have a rich selection of books written for children that give a positive, affirmative approach to learning more about other children with special needs. Borrowing from our library is easy and free. Materials are sent through the mail with a postage paid return envelope. Borrowing time is 20 days, with extensions available upon request. We have developed topical annotated bibliography's of our library titles as a way to share our library. The following is a listing of those bibliography's available. We regret that we are unable to send books, videos, or audio tapes outside the state of New Hampshire.
